Mission {.widget-header} The mission of blog.davemsw.com is to (1) advance the knowledge of consumers of mental health services to empower them to to assess the quality and accessibility of mental health services, (2) to disseminate to the general public comments from a mental health professional’s perspective on mental health news, and (3) to share information with other professionals. None of the information contained on this site should be considered a replacement for professional services offered face-to-face by licensed mental health professionals.

Standards for Content and Contributors {.widget-header}

Contributors must understand that all information submitted and approved will become public information. Contributors may request deleting of previously submitted information. If the request is received from the same email address that was used to post, the request will be respected.

Content submissions are assumed to be based solely on personal experience (e.g. anything the person has undergone himself/herself) and represent the opinion of the contributor. The contributors certify the information is true and correct to their knowledge or clearly state that their statement is a [hypothesis][4] or tentative explanation. (For example, ‘It may be….’) To claim an authoritative statement, a contributor must give references (links for example) to the health/medical information they provide. All contributors are assumed to be non-medical professionals unless they identify themselves by their name and credentials. Identification by link to a profile or a resume/vita is permitted. All contributors must behave at all times with respect and honesty. All content on this site is held for approval by the [owner][1]. The owner is notified automatically when contributors submit content. Submissions are reviewed within 24 hours in most cases. The owner shall determine if the content submitted is consistent with the mission of this site and the [HONCOde standards][2]. Unapproved content will be deleted. Contributors who repeatedly and flagrantly violate these standards will be banned without notification from submitting further content. Frequent contributors may be given the privilege to post their content without prior review, but only if they fully identify themselves and their credentials and agree to these standards. ### Confidentiality {.widget-header}

The identities and details of any individual consumers referred to in clinical discussions are changed to protect their identities. Identities of contributors are requested and limited to how they wish to be identified and their web or email address. ePsyQ.com and all it’s approved providers agree to follow rules, regulations, and laws applicable to confidentiality and private health information in the jurisdiction in which they reside.
